Thanks to some recent changes in state regulations we're able to offer this feature and have started the work to make it available to all of you.

I would be thrilled if Hint Health could implement charging patients for the credit card transaction fees. I have my membership rates set exactly as I would like them to be for at least the next year. My practice is in South Carolina, if that is helpful. Thanks so much for looking into this further!

Seems like this request has been around for at least 4 years, and is the most voted request by quiet a large 34% margin. Why is it not even a planned implementation yet?

Chad Carrone: Thanks for feedback on this being important to your practice, Chad. While our team is actively looking into support for this, its not as straightforward as it sounds. For example, all but 5 states allow surcharging credit cards while most states do not allow surcharging debit cards. However, all states allow you to apply a discount for services paid by cash/check. We have seen some practices successfully implement a coupon for ACH or cash paying patients. We've also see practices increase their memberships rates by 3% to cover transaction fees and admin costs. I hope one of this solutions will work for you in the meantime as we continue to investigate the best way to implement this feature without putting your practice at risk.

Tasha Demkiw: These 5 states you refer to...can't you just restrict your programming in those 5 states? Clearly, this is a major pain point..
Or can you allow another processing company besides stripe to process our charges? Other companies have been knocking at my door wondering why we don't charge the patient cc fees...literally 2 separate ones last week alone.
"Raising Rates" is never seen as a good thing from a patient perspective...
Anyways, just know we are still waiting...
Starbucks does it...why can't Hint? I'm sure Starbucks knows about those 5 states, too...and has stores in them that are successful...

Kirby Farnsworth: This ^^^
I'm not really concerned about the semantics of implementation. I would be happy to apply a discount for services paid by cash. I just need you to give me the button so the system will do it.
Display a 3% higher price for credit cards on sign up, discount the price to our listed price for ACH.
To Kirby's point, if it's too difficult for you to do, allow us another vendor who offers us an alternative. A cash discount has become the default in many industries.

Ashley Lawrence YES! This is an essential piece of this upgrade - keep it simple for me and for my front desk.
